This unlikely admission would be privileged, since it involves a communication about past, not future, crime. Could every member of the Justice Department taint really team be trusted not to communicate that, by a wink or a nod, to the relevant Justice Department trial lawyers?...

The incident occurred on July 18 in Lafayette, Louisiana when 15th Judicial District Court Judge Marilyn Castle was sentencing Michael C. Duhon. Duhon was convicted of money laundering and theft of over $25,000 in February 2019. According to The Acadiana Advocate, the problem began with Duhon objecting after Castle asked him to stop submitting motions on his own behalf rather than via his lawyer, Aaron Adams. Duhon later spoke up when evidence was submitted in the case and also tried to argue on another matter when he was again told to speak through Adams....

Judge John Kastrenakes, of the 15th circuit court of Florida, sentenced the man from West Palm Beach to 10 days behind bars, followed by a year on probation and 150 hours of community service, after he failed to show up for jury duty on time in August, WPTV reported. Somerville was also sentenced to write an apology letter and pay fees of $233 after Kastrenakes told the court that the 21-year-old oversleeping delayed the trial by 45 minutes....
