San Francisco’s signal caller has battled an ankle injury since suffering an ankle sprain in Week 2 vs. the Jets, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, has re-injured the ankle and will be “sidelined indefinitely” to let the injury heal. Schefter reports that the injury could also end his season, if surgery is needed. Garoppolo appeared to re-injure the ankle after being sacked in the third quarter of Sunday’s divisional matchup vs....

According to the 49ers , Garoppolo suffered a calf injury and didn’t return to the game. It wasn’t immediately clear how Garoppolo was injured or how severe the injury is. After the game, Garoppolo told media that he doesn’t know where it came from, but he is getting an MRI on Monday to determine what is wrong. Throughout the first half, he said he could feel his right calf tighten up....

Garoppolo threw five consecutive interceptions in a 49ers practice. That’s not easy to do, even in a practice session. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan shrewdly analyzed the performance. “He threw it to the wrong team five plays in a row,” Shanahan told reporters. “I was a defensive coach today, so I was pumped. U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman will oversee the Department of Justice’s challenge to the law that since September 1 has prohibited most abortions in the Lone Star State. The lawsuit by the Biden administration aims to strike a blow against the law, which bans abortions from the time of a fetal heartbeat, effectively prohibiting the procedure for women who have been pregnant longer than six weeks. The Biden administration vowed to act and the DOJ sued Texas on September 9 to try to block the law’s enforcement....

The former vice president spoke at the College of Charleston on Monday as the Democratic presidential hopefuls prepare for Saturday’s South Carolina primary, which the Biden campaign is hoping will supercharge his as-yet sluggish charge for the party nomination. Videos posted to social media showed the 79-year-old Biden riding his bike and stopping to meet a small group of people.
