Black’s family’s claim that police used excessive force on Black isn’t conclusively contradicted by body camera video of Black’s encounter with the police, Blake said in a 27-page ruling, the Associated Press reported. Blake said that a reasonable jury “could reach more than one conclusion” regarding if officers used a reasonable degree of force when dealing with Black. The chief medical examiner’s autopsy report said Black’s death was from “sudden cardiac death,” according to WBAL-TV....

The lawsuit, filed by the American Civil Liberties Union in May, asks U.S. District Judge Jay Moody of Little Rock to discard the law, which made Arkansas the first state to restrict doctors from providing gender-confirming hormone treatment, puberty blockers or sex reassignment surgery to patients under 18. Doctors also may not refer patients under 18 for treatment under the law. The ACLU sought preliminary injunction while its lawsuit proceeded....

During a chaotic night of protesting for Black rights, Rittenhouse, who was 17 at the time, traveled to Wisconsin armed to join a Kenosha militia group who said they wanted to protect businesses from protesters. Rittenhouse’s lawyers will argue he acted in self-defense when he fatally shot Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz. Jury selection for Rittenhouse begins Monday. WAVE reported that in 2016 Hart applied for plate that read “IM GOD.” He had recently moved to Kenton County from Ohio, where he had had the same vanity plate for over a dozen years. Assange, 50, an Australian citizen, was arrested in 2019 after living for over five years at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he sought political asylum to avoid extradition to Sweden over sexual assault allegations that he denies. Rittenhouse is charged with killing two people and wounding a third in Kenosha in August 2020. Throughout the trial, the defense has argued that his actions were in self-defense. Wisconsin’s self-defense law permits a person to use deadly force if “necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm.” The jury must determine whether Rittenhouse thought he was in danger and if his shooting was justified. The high-definition drone video shows Rottenbaum following Rittenhouse and then the 17-year-old wheeling around and shooting him at close range....
