Incumbent Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are against Democrat challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in a race that is expected to be tight. If either Perdue or Loeffler manage to retain their seat, the GOP will hold a narrow majority in the Senate, making it difficult for the new Joe Biden administration to pass legislation. Georgia voting rights activist Stacey Abrams has been tirelessly advocating for voters to get out in the state and she is backed by numerous pro-Biden celebrities who have been urging their fans to vote Democrat....

If I were in charge, I would change this. I understand that the purpose of limiting ballots is so that there is no unfair advantage for a big-market player over a small-market player in the voting, but in 2014, with online streaming, satellite packages, copious highlights, and the ability to read stories from all over baseball without having to buy a local newspaper, the policy is outmoded at best. At worst, it skews the vote by narrowing the sample size of the electorate....

They both have given back to the sport as owners of race teams, which earns them respect as well as delivers the message that they don't just compete in NASCAR, they are invested in the sport. So their rivalry generates incredible interest and with the likelihood of continued battles, the anticipation grows for their next one....

The Senate voted 53-to-47 on Thursday to confirm Jackson, who will fill the vacancy left by retiring Associate Justice Stephen Breyer. Breyer will step down at the end of the current term, which runs through June. The vote was nearly entirely along party lines, as only three Republicans voted to confirm Jackson, while all 50 Democratic senators voted in favor of her appointment. Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Mitt Romney of Utah were the three Republicans to break with their party on the vote....

This political truism is the reason Democratic senators were wrong to politicize and sabotage the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of Judge Robert Bork in 1987, Justice Clarence Thomas in 1991, Justice Neil Gorsuch in 2017, Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018 and Justice Amy Coney Barrett in 2020. It is why I could not have imagined opposing Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation, either privately or publicly, when the hearings began earlier this week....

Even though ti seems like Harbaugh should be locked into coaching his alma mater’s football program for a long time, that question still will be asked every January. Harbaugh just completed his eighth season in Ann Arbor with his Wolverines losing a second consecutive College Football Playoff semifinal. Although Harbaugh last coached in the NFL in 2014, his 35-12 record in four seasons in the 49ers suggests he can win big again in the right pro situation....

Jordan was asked to testify before the House select committee regarding the events of January 6, but the GOP lawmaker refused to comply. “Even if I had information to share with the Select Committee, the actions and statements of Democrats in the House of Representatives show that you are not conducting a fair-minded and objective inquiry,” he wrote in a letter to the committee last week. During a Sunday morning interview with Fox News, Jordan was asked about the request from the committee and his refusal to testify....

Justice’s decision came as Republicans in states across the country are pushing through an unprecedented number of bills targeting the transgender community. Since the start of 2021, more than 250 anti-trans proposed bills have been introduced in state legislatures throughout the country, according to the Human Rights Campaign.
