Chris Wiest, a Northern Kentucky lawyer, told Louisville’s Courier-Journal that the suit he filed in Boone County Circuit Court seeks statewide, class-action status. Senate Bill 128 unanimously passed the state Senate by a 36-0 vote, and now it moves to the House. The bill is aimed at students in public schools who can use the 2021-22 school session as a supplemental year. They can retake, and supplement, coursework they have already completed. If passed into law, then local school districts would then have discretion to approve or deny requests by the students. If approved, then students can participate in sports and all other Kentucky High School Athletics Association (KHSAA) activities....

Mayfield resident Deanna Badillo managed to survive despite the fact that a tornado destroyed her home as she was trying to find cover, WHAS11 reported. The woman believed her dog had died in the devastation, but fortunately a neighbor managed to find the pet and look after it. “It’s the little things that matter—that little dog every bit of her matters,” Badillo said.
