The Duchess of Cambridge, wearing a dress by Derek Lam, met volunteers from Shout, a text service for people with mental health problems, on Wednesday. The organisation is celebrating a new milestone after recording a million conversations with people in need of support predominantly about feeling suicidal, depressed or anxious. It was set up by The Royal Foundation charity, which Kate shares with her husband, Prince William, and which was at the the time also a project backed by Meghan and Harry....

The Christmas carol service, spearheaded by Kate as the new Princess of Wales in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, marked the biggest showing out in force of the royal family since the late-monarch’s state funeral in September. On Thursday, Netflix debuted the final part of the six-episode limited series Harry & Meghan in which the couple made a number of bombshell claims about the monarchy and the royal family. These included allegations that Prince William screamed and shouted at his brother during a meeting about the Sussexes’ decision to step down as senior royals, and that King Charles told lies during the same encounter....

Kate took part in the meeting in her capacity as a founder of the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood, and comes after the royal’s parenting skills came in for some criticism over Prince Louis’ behavior during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations earlier this month....

Kawhi Leonard agreed Thursday to a four-year, $176.3 million contract to stay in LA, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reports that the fourth year is a player option. Leonard declined a $36 million player option earlier in the offseason but then almost immediately turned his focus to re-signing with the Clippers. The Raptors pulled off one of the most successful gambles in league history when they traded their franchise player, DeMar DeRozan, for Kawhi Leonard last July, but even a ring might not be enough when it comes to enticing the soft-spoken star to stay in Canada for the long haul. Leonard reportedly wanted to return home and play for a team in California after his relationship with the Spurs soured and he is rumored to be interested in joining the Clippers....

The Clippers, of course, this week signed the free agent forward to a deal reportedly for three years and $103 million. Leonard will team up with newly acquired Paul George in a suddenly loaded L.A. lineup. Still, Toronto had hoped to convince Leonard to return. Raptors officials met with Leonard and his uncle, Dennis Robertson, in Toronto on July 3. According to the TSN report, which cited unidentified sources: “Leonard and his camp — namely Uncle Dennis — asked for a lot from the Raptors in that meeting, things players don’t generally ask for in standard contract negotiations....

The Clippers small forward was involved in an accidental collision with Serge Ibaka when his team-mate went for a defensive rebound and caught Leonard with his elbow. Leonard was bleeding heavily from his mouth on the floor of the court before being taken off for further treatment in the locker room during the fourth quarter. During the fourth quarter of Monday night’s Game 3 between the Clippers and Nuggets, Denver guard Jamal Murray tried to throw down a one-handed dunk over Los Angeles forward Kawhi Leonard, but the two-time Defensive Player of the Year rejected Murray. China has been accused, by the U.S. and others including many human rights groups, of carrying out genocide against millions of Uyghurs, an ethnic minority in Central and Eastern Asia. McEnany, press secretary for former President Donald Trump from April 2020 until he left office, made her comments Friday afternoon during a discussion about the Olympics and the political situation surrounding the Games in Beijing, according to Mediaite....

The actor is famously the subject of the well-known Sad Keanu meme, which features him forlornly eating a sandwich alone on a park bench. The meme has been in circulation for 11 years now but the actor has finally shed some light on the photo and revealed that it’s not that deep. “I’m just eating a sandwich, man!” the 57-year-old said during an appearance on The Late Show this week, telling host Stephen Colbert that he was just “hungry” when the photo was snapped....

Junior Matt Fink will make his first career start in Slovis’ absence, coach Clay Helton told reporters Thursday. “It’s an amazing opportunity for me,” Fink said earlier this week. NASCAR fans called out Olbermann for calling Kurt Busch Kyle (his brother) in a tweet, and for calling Driscoll Busch’s wife. Trump has repeatedly attacked Kemp in recent weeks for allegedly not doing enough to help him overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
