President Joe Biden has confirmed plans to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, at next week’s G20 summit, where the pair intend to discuss national security concerns. “I’m not willing to make any fundamental concessions,” the U.S. president said at the White House on Wednesday, noting that in his many meetings with China’s leader, he’s told him: “I’m looking for competition, not conflict.” The two-day gathering of G20 leaders will take place on Indonesia’s resort island of Bali on November 15 and 16....

Biden slammed Warren on Friday for her Medicare for All plans while speaking to voters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. “It’s going to cost a lot of money and she’s going to raise people’s taxes doing it,” he said of the plan. Warren, who has been steadily rising in the polls to second place in the primaries, has artfully dodged the question of whether her plan would raise taxes on multiple occasions....

Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, stated that the president—who is fully vaccinated and twice boosted— was experiencing “very mild symptoms” and had begun taking Paxlovid as a treatment. Jean-Pierre added that he was following CDC guidelines and “will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time”. This is the first time that the president has tested positive for COVID....

Garland appointed Jack Smith as special counsel to investigate former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents, and the two men will now be the focus of significant attention. President Biden faces a different kind of special counsel in Hur, who has associations with Republicans and once clerked for the late conservative Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Smith is a career prosecutor who has been criticized by Trump and some of his allies because of his wife’s connections to former first lady Michelle Obama....

He said such supplies were “all to help counter Ukraine’s brutal aggression that’s happening because of Russia.” The president seemingly meant to say “Russia’s brutal aggression.” He paused briefly after he said aggression, then added the statement about Russia to the end of the sentence. Earlier in the speech, he had said the phrase “Russia’s aggression” multiple times....

Americans collectively hold more than $1.5 trillion in student loans and the financial burden caused people to delay marriages, purchase homes and having children. With some legislators, including Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, pushing for widespread forgiveness, Biden’s election victory sparked hope that relief was on the horizon. Under Biden’s plan listed on his website, his administration would forgive undergraduate loans for people who have “responsibly made payments” for 20 years....

In a video posted by Turning Point USA founderCharlie Kirk, an unseen woman tells the former vice president she is an Iowa college student. She then asks him how many genders there are. “There are at least three,” Biden, 76, can be heard saying. The woman then asks him to name them. “Don’t play games with me, kid,” he responded, adding that he was the “first one” in the Obama administration to come out in support of marriage equality....

When asked by Politico on Monday about a possible Obama endorsement for his 2020 campaign, Biden claimed it isn’t necessary. “No, because everyone knows I’m close with him,” he said. “I don’t need an Obama endorsement.” Biden asserted that his time serving as vice president has helped him establish a voter base within the African American community and in some key states, including Pennsylvania, Colorado, Virginia and Florida. He also responded to a recent Politico article, which reported that Obama had told another presidential candidate that Biden “really doesn’t have” it when it came to establishing emotional connections with voters....

While speaking to Fox News’ Neil Cavuto on December 7, he also said sending troops to Ukraine was another option President Joe Biden should keep in his deck. He said: “We start making a mistake when we take options off the table. “I would hope the president keeps that option on the table.” Cavuto asked for further clarification on what military action means. Wicker answered the U.S should be considering both more boots on the grounds in Ukraine and a nuclear strike....
