Durant has missed the majority of the season after having multiple complications with his foot. He missed the first 17 games of the season, and returned only to miss time again.
In October, Durant had a screw inserted to repair a Jones fracture and underwent surgery Feb. 23 to attempt to alleviate soreness and discomfort in his foot caused by the screw. After that procedure, he was re-evaluated over the next two weeks and eventually shut down basketball activities.
The league’s 2013-14 MVP averaged 25.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 27 games this season.
