“This time around I just want to make sure I’m fully healed and feel good about going out there again,” Durant said, via NewsOk.com.
The 2013-14 NBA MVP injured his hamstring against the Wizards on Tuesday, and is listed as day-to-day. He was originally expected to miss 7-10 days with the injury. He missed 55 games last season with foot injuries, sitting out most of the second half of the season.
“Yeah, hamstring is a little bit different. You can re-injure it easily if you try to play through it,” Durant said. “We say no, ‘Be tough.’ I call that being dumb.”
Durant averaged 28.1 points in 34 minutes per game during the season’s first eight games.
