Images of the destruction and aftermath of the severe weather have begun to circulate on social media.

WLKY meteorologist Daniel Johnson shared a picture of a home without a roof on his Twitter page.

Debris could be seen throughout the picture as well as fallen trees.

“Parts of the Louisville Metro slammed tonight with what appears to be tornado damage in Fern Creek,” he wrote as a caption.

WHAS11 reporter Shay McAlister also shared some pictures from the damage seen in Fern Creek.

“Pictures coming out of Fern Creek tonight after a tornado was confirmed in Southeast Jefferson County,” she tweeted.

“There are reports of homes missing roofs, downed power poles and trees on homes.”

Rachel Droze, also from WHAS11, tweeted some pictures of a damaged neighborhood.

“Major tornado damage in a Fern Creek neighborhood,” she wrote."

Of the four pictures she posted, one showed a garage door dented and broken while another depicted a mangled stop sign and a destroyed barbecue alongside a knocked-over fire hydrant.

WDRB photojournalist Greg Schapker posted similar images on his Twitter page.

“Large power poles and lines down off Bardstown Road and Long Home Road, in Fern Creek. This is south of 265,” he tweeted.

NWS Paducah’s Twitter page issued tornado warnings to multiple areas in Kentucky on Wednesday.

“Tornado warning including Central City KY, Livermore KY, Sacramento KY until 6:15 PM CDT.

Subsequent tweets added Greenville, Powderly and Beechmont to that list of areas.

As well as tornado warnings, the NWS Twitter page also warned against intense weather systems going into the evening.

“Severe thunderstorm warning continues for Oak Grove KY, Central City KY, Greenville KY until 6:00 P.M. CDT. This storm will contain wind gusts to 70 MPH,” they wrote in a tweet.

“Flash flood warning continues for Hopkinsville KY, Madisonville KY, Oak Grove KY until 8:00 P.M. CDT,” the Twitter page wrote in an additional tweet.

Due to the intense weather into the evening, some homes were left without power on Wednesday night and were forced to assess the damage to their homes in the dark, according to a WAVE report.

Storms knocked out electricity to thousands of people living in Glenmary, South of Fern Creek in Jefferson County.

LG&E had reported just over 29,000 customers without power by 10:15 P.M.

Nolin Rural Electric Co-Op reported over 1,300 customers without power in Hardin, Hart, and Larue counties to the south.
