West wore a photograph of a baby’s ultrasound on a lanyard during his interview with host Tucker Carlson.

“What does that mean?” Carlson asked of his unusual neckwear.

“It just represents life,” West replied. “I’m pro-life.”

He then claimed that more Black babies are aborted in New York City than they are born, adding that “50 percent of Black death in America is abortion.”

The controversial rapper also blasted Planned Parenthood.

“They want to kill us in any way they can,” he said. “Planned Parenthood was made by Margaret Sanger, a known eugenics, with the KKK, and I believe that if we saw ourselves as—if we saw ourselves as a people and not a race, then we would treat our people better.”

Republicans nationwide this week have celebrated West, who’s legally changed his name to Ye. Social justice advocates were incensed on Monday after West wore a shirt with the words “White Lives Matter” to his Paris fashion show, but the move also earned him nods from conservative circles.

Greene, who’s infamous for her conspiracy theory-adjacent views, is among those cheering on West. On Friday, she posted a clip from the rapper’s Fox interview on the right-leaning platform Truth Social.

“Abortion is the silent genocide of black Americans and the Democrats protect it, fund it, and will do anything to force it to continue,” Greene wrote in the post. “Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger, a racist and believer in eugenics. Planned Parenthood should pay reparations.”

Planned Parenthood has forcefully denounced its founder’s stance on eugenics, which the organization has called an “inherently racist and ableist ideology that labeled certain people unfit to have children.”

“Planned Parenthood believes that all people—of every race, religion, gender identity, ability, immigration status, and geography—are full human beings with the right to determine their own future and decide, without coercion or judgment, whether and when to have children,” the organization wrote in a report.

Still, West isn’t exactly the ally that the pro-life movement needs, according to Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa, founder and president of the pro-life organization New Wave Feminists, who gave a statement to Newsweek. She alleges that he’s long exploited women in both his life and music videos, and he even once partnered with PornHub before supposedly finding God, according to NME.

Herndon-De La Rosa questions how genuine West is about the matter and called his mental health into question. She also said that for her, West’s “views on human dignity (especially the human dignity of women)” fall flat.

“I hope he gets the help he needs, but until then, I don’t think he should be viewed as an authority on the prolife issue,” Herndon-De La Rosa wrote to Newsweek. “As a prolife feminist, I need to see him respect the child in the womb, and the woman carrying said new life, which I haven’t.”

The rapper apparently didn’t always hold such strong anti-abortion views.

West, who ran for president in 2020, ranted about abortion during his first political rally. He revealed that he and then-wife Kim Kardashian, who share a daughter named North, once thought about seeking the procedure.

“My dad wanted to abort me. My mom saved my life. There would have been no Kanye West, because my dad was too busy,” West said at the time.

“I almost killed my daughter…So even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn’t want to,” the rapper continued. “She stood up, and she protected that child.”

Newsweek has reached out to Greene, West and Planned Parenthood for comment.
