Kardashian is West’s ex-wife, but before they were a couple, she starred in an infamous sex tape with then-boyfriend Ray J. During Season 1 of The Kardashians, Kim claimed that West had recently met Ray J at an airport to obtain a computer and a hard drive that contained “all of the sex tape” and gave it to her. The beauty mogul later said there was “nothing sexual” on the footage.

Last month, Ray J claimed that Kris Jenner, Kardashian’s mother, watched three sex tapes that he purportedly filmed with Kardashian and chose the one that was eventually released. During a series of Instagram videos, the “One Wish” singer also showed a contract with adult film company Vivid that he alleged had Kardashian’s signature on it, as well as text exchanges he said he had with Kardashian and West about the sex tapes.

However, if any animosity exists between Ray J and West—who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021—it wasn’t seen during photographs at the Nashville, Tennessee, premiere of Owens’ The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.

Owens recently made headlines with West when she joined him in wearing a “White Lives Mater” shirt at his Yeezy fashion show last week in Paris. In the ensuing backlash from the appearance, West created more controversy by posting comments on social media that have been deemed antisemitic by the Anti-Defamation League and other Jewish organizations.

Restrictions were placed on West’s Twitter and Instagram accounts as a result, but watchdog group StopAntisemitism is calling for him to be banned from the platforms.

“While we commend Twitter and Meta for locking Kanye’s accounts, with the extent of his influence his accounts need to be permanently removed,” Liora Rez, executive director of StopAntisemitism, told Newsweek.

At the Wednesday night premiere, West and Ray J were also both photographed with musician Kid Rock, who is a well-known conservative. In 2018, Rock joined West for a visit to the White House, where they watched then-President Donald Trump sign an act that guarantees increased and faster royalty payments for musicians.

West also wore a black hat that read “2024” to Owens’ premiere. The hip-hop superstar ran for president in 2020 and recently indicated he still has political aspirations, though he has yet to declare his intention to run for the Oval Office in the next election.

Newsweek reached out to West and Ray J for comment.
