The short-lived new edition, which will fade to black at year’s end, consists of a commemorative tin of Crayola’s standard box of 64 crayons (including the batch introduced last summer, which also comprises fuchsia, dandelion, cerulean, teal blue and royal purple), plus a pack of the eight greats. The octet includes raw umber, lemon yellow, blue-gray, greenblue, maize, orange-red, orange-yellow and violet-blue. The expanded palette will be a thing of beauty–and a joy until January.
