The jury had requested to end Friday’s sessions at 1 p.m. The Hernandez trial has lasted 45 days, including the last three days of deliberation. The jury must review 135 witness testimonies and 439 exhibits (evidence).

When he was brought in Friday morning, Hernandez reportedy mouthed “I love you” to his fiancée, Shayanna Jenkins. Also in the courtroom Friday was Shayanna’s sister Shaneah, who was dating Odin Lloyd at the time of his death. She sat with Lloyd’s family.

Hernandez faces two gun-related charges on top of his murder charge: unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. Jurors have interest in those charges, according to the Boston Globe, perhaps explaining any extended deliberation.
