West, 44, was this week hit with a 24-hour ban from Instagram after violating the social media platform’s policy on hate speech, bullying and harassment, following a slew of posts aimed at Kardashian, 41, Davidson, 28, and TV host Trevor Noah.
The rapper and designer’s posts about Davidson, whom he has taken to calling “Skete,” received increased attention when he unveiled the Eazy music video, which depicted him kidnapping and burying a claymation likeness of the comedian.
In the lyrics of the track, West is heard rapping: “God saved me from that crash / Just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a**.”
However, Fox has spoken out in defense of West, stating that while the music video was “aggressive” she doesn’t believe that he would physically harm anybody.
While speaking with TMZ in a video interview published on Thursday, the Uncut Gems actress was asked if Kardashian and Davidson should be concerned about their safety, given the posts and the nature of West’s music video.
“No, Kanye’s harmless,” Fox responded. “I just think that’s his artistic creative expression. I know it’s aggressive, but… I think that if it really came down to it, I don’t think Kanye would hurt a fly.”
After stating that she hadn’t reached out to West recently, Fox was asked if she believed that the Flashing Lights hitmaker was a potential risk to himself.
“At this point, I’m not really sure,” Fox, whose split from West was announced on February 14, said during the brief interview, “but I’ll give him a call and I’ll find out.”
Kardashian, who shares four children with West, embarked on a romance with Saturday Night Live star Davidson last year, after filing for divorce from the rapper in February 2021. She was declared legally single on March 3.
In recent months, and even while he was dating Fox, West made repeated public statements that he wanted to rekindle his relationship with Kardashian. He has also frequently attacked Davidson in his social media posts.
In screenshots shared by West in February, Kardashian had told him via text message that he was creating a “dangerous and scary environment” for her and Davidson through his slew of Instagram posts.
“Someone will hurt Pete and this will be all your fault,” Kardashian was quoted as writing to West.
In response, West wrote on Instagram: “Upon my wife’s request please nobody do anything physical to Skete. I’m going to handle the situation myself.”
Kardashian last month spoke out against West’s “constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media” after he criticized her decision to allow their 8-year-old daughter, North, to have a TikTok account.
“Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all,” she stated in the post.
