Rosen was competing with redshirt junior Jerry Neuheisel to replace departed quarterback Brett Hundley. Neuheisel completed 26 of 39 passes last season for 194 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
Rosen came to UCLA as the top-rated pro-style quarterback per 247Sports, and the top overall recruit according to Rivals. He completed 199 of 313 passes for 3,186 yards and 29 touchdowns as a senior.
