Norman autographed the cleats, which have “PROUDBRAVE” stitched on the sides, and turned them over to Panthers community relations for online auction. Proceeds will benefit troops at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

“Just giving back to them and give them some hope. Let them know that we care about them and we love them as well,” Norman said, via Black and Blue Review. “That’s what I can do.”
Norman said he was fined $5,000 for the cleats, but said after Sunday’s game the fine wasn’t enough to deter him from honoring the military.
“The price we pay for freedom, I’ll take that any day,” Norman said. “Big ups to them and everything they do for our country, I can’t be proud enough to be an American citizen.”
