Spieth has already amazed the golf and sporting world by winning two majors and coming so close to the third step of the elusive Grand Slam at the British Open. He is the favorite to win his third major of the season in next month’s PGA Championship, and if so will become the No.1-ranked golfer in the world.
Spieth always gives credit to Ellie for his inspiration, win or lose. She was born with a neurological disorder and is his biggest fan. “Ellie is the best thing that has ever happened to our family,” he says.
Spieth never fails to say hello to Ellie back home in Dallas during a post-round interview or after a win, always telling the media how much she means to him. It is a very close and touching relationship, and according to Spieth, it “helps me keep everything in perspective.”
