Meanwhile, NEWSWEEK has learned that Clinton may soon face another legal headache. Arkansas trooper L. D. Brown is preparing a lawsuit against Gov. Jim Guy Tucker that may also name Clinton. Brown claims that the two conspired to transfer him out of his job after he made statements accusing Clinton of womanizing, and after Brown spoke to Whitewater investigators. The White House denies Brown’s charges. Tucker says the trooper was transferred for shoddy work.
