The Mad Man star discussed his love for the long-running reality series during an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show over the weekend.
The 51-year-old said when he and his girlfriend, Anna Osceola, are cooking dinner they love to watch TV, specifically the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“I’m fascinated by it, I really am,” Hamm told Stern of RHOBH, adding: “I resisted it for decades I thought it was the low-hanging fruit, the lowest common denominator.”
The actor revealed he would often see the show’s cast memes out filming and it put him off ever watching the show—but now he has completely changed his mind.
Hamm revealed that while he’s currently obsessed with the Beverly Hill franchise, it was the New Jersey one that got him hooked.
“The first hit of the pipe was New Jersey,” he said. “Started in Jersey, then we went across the river to New York and then we got on a plane and flew across the country and landed in Beverly Hills.”
Then Stern touched on a RHOBH hot topic and asked Hamm if he thinks Erika Jayne should “give back the earrings,” to which the actor responded with an enthusiastic: “Yes!”
For context, RHOBH star Jayne was at the center of a controversy surrounding a pair of $750,000 diamond earrings that a court determined were purchased with money stolen by her estranged husband Tom Girardi.
The reality TV star filed for divorce from Girardi in November 2020 and has repeatedly denied having any part in his alleged crimes.
Girardi, a lawyer, was accused of misappropriating millions in client funds while practicing law but Jayne was cleared by a judge after no evidence of wrongdoing on her part was found during a lawsuit. A clip of Jayne being served with said lawsuit went viral back in July.
However, the earring scandal featured heavily in the show and Hamm has some strong feelings about it.
“You just want to shake her and go, ‘Honey, they were never yours, give them back!’”
Elsewhere in the interview, Hamm discussed his new relationship and said he is “very much” in love with his new girlfriend, Anna Osceola.
“It’s good and comfortable and it’s a feeling about taking care of someone else and being taken care of,” Hamm said about his relationship and added that he “could for sure” see himself settling down.
