The 18-year-old singer and entertainer participated in the game on Sunday at Coors Field in Denver, wearing a Chicago Cubs #8 jersey alongside Marvel star Anthony Mackie.
Siwa was joined by a host of other celebrities including rapper Quavo, DJ Steve Aoki and actor Ross Butler.
Noah Beck, Charles Melton, Residente, Blake Gray and Kane Brown were also among the celebrities that took part in Sunday’s game in aid of fighting hunger in Colorado.
However, it was the young pop star who stole the show after she left fans amazed by hitting a double off Quavo, after he struck out DK Metcalf.
The “Boomerang” singer became a trending topic on Twitter for her performance, with fans reveling in her previously unknown sporting abilities.
“JoJo Siwa hit a double off Quavo after he struck out DK Metcalf. What a sentence,” tweeted sports writer Wes Crosby.
“When JoJo Siwa rips a double with no effort after DK Metcalf strikes out. Never thought that’d be something I would see,” sports anchor Max Preston added.
While a viral tweet from Def Noodles reads: “BREAKING NEWS THAT WILL MOST DEFINITELY CHANGE YOUR LIFE: JoJo Siwa trending after dominating in the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game. JoJo hit a double off Quavo. Also, the MLB made this fancam for JoJo.”
“jojo siwa hitting a double off quavo and then being waved in by steve aoki on the next pitch in the celebrity game has been the best sports moment since pre-covid,” said another.
Another fan joked that Siwa is the Chicago Cub’s best player this year.
“Jojo Siwa just ripped a ball harder than I’ve seen Victor Robles do all season,” said another.
Siwa made headlines last week when she posted a touching tribute to her girlfriend, Kylie Prew, on their six-month dating anniversary.
“Without a question… by far… the Best 6 months ever,” the former Dance Moms star posted. “I’m so lucky to get to call this incredible human my girlfriend. Thank you for everyday making me feel so special and SO loved. I will forever love you more than you know:) Happy 6 months to you my love bug!”
Siwa first announced she was a member of the LGBTQ+ community back in January, after fans saw her wearing a t-shirt that read “Best gay cousin.”
Around this time, she shared a video of herself dancing on TikTok to Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way”—an LGBTQ+ anthem.
Then in April, she came out as pansexual, telling People: “I still don’t know what I am. It’s like, I want to figure it out. I like ‘queer.’ Technically, I would say that I am pansexual because that’s how I have always been my whole life … just like, my human is my human.”
