The controversial quarterback on Monday issued an apology to Texas A&M fans and a promised to make things right after being tagged in a tweet sent out by an Aggies fan website that featured a video of one of the Heisman Trophy winner’s touchdown runs in 2013.

Manziel also posted a video on his Instagram vowing to eventually return to the football field.
Despite promising to remain completely sober beginning July 1, Manziel recently issued a statement to The Washington Post saying he won’t promise he’s “never drinking again.”

Manziel’s once-bright NFL future has been derailed by off-field troubles, leading to him being cut by the Browns and dumped by two agents.

Even if Manziel manages to sign with a team before the season starts, he’ll serve a four-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He’s also in the middle of a legal battle in which he’s accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend that could lead to further punishment from the league.
