Lackey, 37, brings experience and a proven arm to a young Chicago squad that struggled with pitching depth last season. The right-handed hurler went 13-10 with a 2.77 ERA and 175 strikeouts in St. Louis last season. He also went 1-0 in two starts during the postseason.

The Cubs are set at the top of their rotation with NL Cy Young award winner Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester, but Lackey gives them another reliable postseason arm.
