John Fox will take over as Chicago’s head coach, the Bears announced Friday afternoon. Fox becomes the 15th coach in team history.

Fox, 60 next month, comes from Denver, where he posted a 46-18 record. He’s also one of six head coaches to take two franchises to a Super Bowl.
The Bears hope they have found their answer at coach. Last season under Marc Trestman the team went 5-11, well below expectations.
A former player of Fox’s spoke to ESPN about what the coach brings to the team.
“[Coach Fox] will bring stability to the Bears. Coach Fox is definitely a players’ coach, but he also preaches discipline, and he’ll lay down the law if he has to. He will immediately improve the defense, while also putting a higher priority on running the football. Honestly, he is a great fit for the Bears. Chicago is lucky he left Denver.”
Fox already has an offensive coordinator in mind, according to Mike Garafolo.
Fox will be introduced at a noon ET press conference Monday at Halas Hall.
