The team announced that Bosa, the No. 3 overall pick from Ohio State in the 2016 NFL draft has signed his four-year rookie contract

“We look forward to having Joey join us and getting him prepared as quickly as possible for the 2016 season,” general manager Tom Telesco said in a statement.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, it’s $25.8 million over the length of the contract, with $17 million up front.

With the time lost in training camp and preseason games, it’s uncertain how polished Bosa can get to be a key contributor in his first season. The Chargers, however, have been so shaky up front, that have no choice but to give the all-around explosive talent everything he needs to get on the field, stat.
