Joe Philbin To Return As Dolphins Coach In 2015 Owner Admits

Joe Philbin, despite a disappointing season and rumors of a hot-seat placement, will return as Miami’s coach in 2015, owner Stephen Ross told reporters after the Dolphins’ 37-35 win over the Vikings on Sunday.

The Dolphins went 7-9 in Philbin’s first season and improved to 8-8 last year. Ross called for progress prior to the 2014 season, but some observers believed it would take a playoff appearance for Philbin to save his job.

Pittsburgh’s win over Kansas City officially eliminated Miami from playoff contention, despite its victory over Minnesota. 

The Dolphins host the Jets in Week 17.
