Before the Yanks and Sox battled it out for their (traditional and always super long) Sunday Night Baseball matchup, New York manager Joe Girardi shook off Napoli’s comments as a non-issue, per ESPNBoston.com’s Gordon Edes.
It’s yet to be seen if there will be any kind of retaliation — i.e. a bean ball — for Napoli’s comments. But given the rivalry between the two teams, it might almost be more surprising if this is the last we heard of ‘Idiotgate.’
