A Gallup poll released last week found 57 percent of U.S. adults approved of Biden’s job performance—far exceeding Donald Trump’s 100-day historically low approval rating of 41 percent, but falling short of Barack Obama and George W. Bush, both of whom had approval ratings over 60 percent.

Biden has been extremely consistent in his job approval score since entering office. Gallup found the Democrat averaged a 56 percent approval rating during his first quarter in office, from January 20 through April 19.

CNN’s senior Washington correspondent Joe Johns reported that Biden has the steadiest approval rating on record for any president through their first 100 days in the White House.

Biden has received more support from women, younger adults, non-white adults and college graduates than from their counterparts. When broken down by party affiliation, 94 percent of Democrats, 58 percent of independents and 11 percent of Republicans gave their approval for Biden’s job performance.

Other media outlets and polling institutions have also shown that a majority of Americans are giving Biden their stamp of approval.

A NBC News poll released Sunday showed that 53 percent of respondents approved of Biden’s job in office, while 39 percent disapproved. Most Americans also backed Biden’s first two major pieces of legislation: the coronavirus relief package and his infrastructure proposal.

A plurality of respondents (46 percent) believed the president’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan was a good idea, while 25 percent said it was a bad idea. The relief package, which was passed in March, included another round of direct payments, extended unemployment benefits, and billions of dollars for state governments.

“I really want to thank the American people for making all of this possible,” Biden said when the Senate signed off on the bill. “Quite frankly, without the overwhelming bipartisan support of the American people, this would not have happened. Your elected officials heard you. Overwhelming public support — every public opinion poll shows overwhelming support for this plan.”

Biden’s American Jobs Plan—which would devote $2 trillion to update transportation infrastructure, improve drinking water, expand broadband access and provide care for elderly Americans, among other measures—has even more support. NBC News found that 59 percent of respondents said it was a good idea, while 21 percent disagreed with the proposal.

Biden received the highest marks for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the economy, which garnered 69 percent approval and 52 percent approval, respectively. The public was less supportive with how Biden has handled diplomatic relations with China, gun reform and immigration issues.
