If Johnson heads to victory lane at Indy he will do it in style with a unique “red vest” paint scheme.

It’s not the first time that Johnson has gone with the red look. He used the scheme at Charlotte last October, but engine issues sent him to a 39th-place finish. In 2014, Johnson won the November race at Texas with the red look on his car.

According to Hendrick Motorsports and Team Lowe’s Racing, the paint scheme is designed to reflect the red vests that Lowe’s employees wear in the stores and honors the 265,000-plus employees across the country.
