Cicala’s mother sent an invitation to the Michigan coach because she thought it’d be cool to invite him. Harbaugh responded with a personalized letter.

The note reads:

Cicala said he was surprised to get a response from the coach, saying it was “pretty cool.” Harbaugh mentioned bocce ball because the invite mentioned the game would be played at the party.

Thank you for your kind invitation to your graduation party. I will be unable to attend, spending time with Sarah before season.

I will miss bocce ball. My grandfather Joe Cipiti came to U.S. as a four year old with family. Great memories on holidays & picnics with his family.

Best wishes

“Go Blue”

Jim Harbaugh

Cicala, an Ann Arbor resident, graduated from the university in May. He says he probably won’t be inviting Harbaugh to any future events.
