The Harvick have a 1-year-old son, Keelan. Harvick, 37, just completed his 13th Sprint Cup season, finishing third in points for Richard Childress Racing....

Harvick’s team had to repair the radiator and rear fender on his car as he finished 43 laps down in 33rd. Having been one of the dominant drivers all season, Harvick is now eighth in points, 33 behind leader Jeff Gordon and 28 points behind Kenseth, who is fourth and in the current transfer spot to the championship round at Homestead-Miami Speedway. “He won’t win this championship,” Harvick said about Kenseth....

McCarthy originally denied the reports made by The New York Times before MSNBC’s The Rachel Maddow Show aired audio recordings of McCarthy and Cheney’s conversation....

In a Saturday CPAC appearance with American Conservative Union Chair Matt Schlapp and Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana, McCarthy said there was “no chance” that Democrats will keep control of a majority in the House next year. “We’re going to get the majority back. We’re five seats away,” he said. “I would bet my house. My personal house. Don’t tell my wife, but I will bet it. This is the smallest majority the Democrats have had in 100 years....

Posting on social media, Rep. McCarthy (R-CA) accused Waters (D-CA) of inciting violence in Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis at the weekend, and engaging in dangerous rhetoric amid anger over the killing of Daunte Wright. The 20-year-old Black man was shot dead by police after he attempted to evade arrest following a traffic stop. Police said he had a warrant standing against him. Appearing with protesters in Brooklyn Center on Sunday night, around the time of a curfew, Waters said activists had to let law enforcement know “we mean business,” along with other remarks construed as incitements to violence....

The New York Jets announced Tuesday night that the veteran cornerback who went AWOL for 48 hours last weekend will sit out for the rest of the week, including the preseason finale at Philadelphia on Thursday night, but is eligible to return to the team next Monday. The team also said that additional terms of discipline would not be disclosed. Patterson is likely facing a team-imposed fine. Patterson had been suspended indefinitely on Monday after he left the team last Friday night before the Jets’ preseason game against the Giants without speaking to anyone in the organization....
